Living with myasthenia can mean needing to make changes to how you live your life. This can affect finances, work, education, and your ability to travel around. Our Benefits and Welfare Service is here to help you navigate and manage these challenges.

Our new Welfare Officer is newly in post and will start to pick up welfare enquiries from 5th August onwards.

The benefits system is complicated, many people do not know what they are entitled to claim and rules can change.  Myasthenia is also a complex condition and not well known, so before applying for financial support, it's worth seeking advice from myaware.

Benefits agencies also sometimes make mistakes, and we can advise you about how to challenge unfavourable decisions about your entitlement.

We can also advise you about financial assistance relating to transport, energy, and utility bills and your rights regarding employment and education

To discuss any of these topics contact myaware via email at [email protected] or call 01332 290 219.

Please note: during busier times it can take us up to five working days to respond.
