Fundraise for myaware

If you have a problem with gambling, you can ask us not to enter you into our lotteries or McPherson Club.

This is called self-exclusion.

When you ask us to do this, we exclude you from our lotteries and McPherson Club for a minimum of six months up to a maximum of five years. After the self-exclusion period is over, you will then only receive future gambling-related materials and mailings if you tell us you want to receive gambling-related promotional items once more.

The self-exclusion form should only be used to inform us of your wishes to self-exclude. If you wish to cancel your entries into our lottery or McPherson Club draws for any other reason, please contact our Fundraising Team who will be happy to help. You can email the team at [email protected] or call our Head Office on 01332 290 219.

Gambling Responsibly

Myaware acknowledges that whilst many people gamble within their means, for some, gambling can become a problem.

Please ensure you follow the Safer Gambling tips from BeGambleAware:

1. Don’t think of gambling as a way to make money

2. Only gamble with money you can afford to lose

3. Set a money limit in advance

4. Set a time limit in advance

5. Never chase your losses

6. Don’t gamble when you’re depressed or upset

7. Balance gambling with other activities

8. Don’t take your bank card with you

9. Take frequent breaks

10. Don’t drink or use drugs when gambling

How to self-exclude and what happens next

  • complete the form below
  • we will update your records on our database within two weeks of receiving your self-exclusion form
  • we will not send you further marketing material related to gambling, including lottery mailings
  • we will return money from any tickets previously purchased by you prior to self-exclusion and your tickets will be withdrawn from the relevant lottery or McPherson Club draws
  • you can either self-exclude from a specific myaware lottery, or all lotteries and raffles that we run (details given in the form)
  • you have to self-exclude for a specific period of time, from a minimum of six months up to a maximum of five years
  • you can extend your period of exclusion in six-month periods
  • it is not possible to end self-exclusion before your chosen exclusion period finishes – e.g. if you choose to self-exclude for a year, you cannot ask to receive gambling marketing materials again after six months.
  • at the end of your self-exclusion period, we will not send you materials related to gambling again until you let us know by phone or in writing that you wish to receive them. We will then amend your records on our database within two weeks of this notification.
  • You will have a one-day cooling off period to change your mind after you notify us that you want to restart receiving gambling materials.
