It is with regret we report that Ruth Ingledew will be leaving myaware in August. Ruth has been with us since 2012 and has overseen many positive changes to the charity.

She has successfully lobbied both parliament and the NHS over the availability of medications and increased the amount of people we are in contact with who have myasthenia. As a charity we now support 54% of people in the UK with myasthenia.

Since joining myaware Ruth has become a trustee of the Neurological Alliance, meaning that myaware has forged better links with larger neurological charities and is involved in the decision making process to improve neurological services around the country.

We have seen an increase in awareness materials during Ruth’s time with the charity. We regularly attend GP and nurses conferences to ensure quicker diagnosis for our members.

Ruth also successfully implemented our free and confidential counselling service, which is available to members of myaware.

Sarah Sanders will act as interim CEO.

We’re sure you will all join us in wishing Ruth every success in the future.
