We cannot carry out our vital work without you, our generous supporters. Our supporters comprise many different individuals and organisations, but all have one thing in common – you wish to make a difference to people living with myasthenia. 

We understand that making a donation is an important decision and we are grateful that you have chosen to make a gift to us. 

In return, we make the following promises to our supporters: 

Privacy 

• We will NEVER share your identifiable personal data with third parties. All supporter data is held in accordance with our privacy policy

Respect 

• Any fundraising asks will be made respectfully and responsibly 
• We will you treat you fairly and reasonably  
• If you tell us in writing you wish to restrict your donation to a particular area of our work, we will do our best to honour this. In cases where we cannot honour the wish, we will communicate with you and work together to agree the best use for your donation  

Communication 

• We will only communicate with you according to the contact preferences you have shared with us 
• We will listen to you regarding any questions or feedback 
• We do not use third party agencies to engage in cold calling or cold mailing  
• You can opt-out of communications at any time by emailing [email protected] 

Targeted Communications 

• We may target our fundraising communications based on your previous interactions with myaware to make our communications more cost-effective and more relevant to you. For example, if you have donated towards our research appeals in the past, we may contact you with research updates. Or if you have taken part in a fundraising event, we may contact you regarding similar upcoming fundraising events 
• Targeted communications will only be based on your past giving history, geography (for local events), age or any interests/preferences you have previously shared with us 
• We do not carry out wealth screening or economic profiling 

Integrity 

• We fundraise with confidence in line with myaware’s mission, values and charitable aims 
• We will not partner with any organisation which compromises our independence, integrity and mission 

Transparency 

• We will answer any questions openly and honestly 
• A copy of our latest Annual Report is available on request, which shows clearly how funds have been raised and where they have been spent 

Accountability 

• Myaware adheres to all relevant UK fundraising legislation and the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice
