Become a myaware trustee Whilst we welcome applications from all members, bearing in mind the skill sets of the continuing board, we are particularly keen to hear from younger members and individuals with skills and experience in the following fields: Fundraising IT systems Finance Medical professionals in a relevant discipline NHS management The role of a trustee is not remunerated, but travel expenses to meetings are paid. Quarterly meetings are currently held online via Teams / Zoom on a Saturday morning. In addition to these quarterly meetings the trustees meet face to face, once a year in Derby. To stand as a myaware trustee it is necessary to have a clean Data Barring Service check, which is arranged and paid for by the charity and renewed every three years. To be considered for appointment as a trustee, it is important that you have all or some of the following: SKILLS / EXPERIENCE: Working in management / committee meetings Development of strategy / business planning Policy review / formulation Familiar with reviewing financial information with an understanding of financial matters Appreciation of governance issues Ability to access online meetings via Teams / Zoom PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES: Good team and interpersonal skills Able to consider the wider issues Prepared to contribute in board discussions Self confident OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Sympathy with the objectives of the charity Willingness to gain an understanding of the condition and its impact on those living with it Able to commit to five days a year to attend board meetings plus reading board papers Prepared to consider joining a myawarecommittee dealing with particular aspects of theboard’s responsibilities Would you like to become a trustee of myaware?
