Role: Support Worker

Area: London and East of England

Hours per week: 22.5 (part time)

Location: Home based

Closing Date: 12pm on Friday 17th August 2018

A committed, caring and well organised individual is needed to deliver excellent support for our members with myasthenia, their families and carers. 

A significant part of the role will involve co-ordinating and nurturing Support Groups in the designated region including organising and attending meetings and social activities as well as recruiting, training and motivating volunteers to help locally.

To meet the needs of our members these events are often during weekends and evenings and therefore flexible working hours are a necessity for this role which is based on three days per week.

The successful applicant will also provide appropriate and empathetic support to people living with myasthenia by phone, email, letter and face to face.

The role involves developing good working relationships with local hospitals and healthcare professionals in the regions to help grow membership and engagement.

The Support Worker will be home-based in London or the East of England and will work closely with fundraising colleagues to identify potential income streams and to support community fundraising events locally.
